SERIGRAPHY: THE MEDIUM FOR COLOR

I have always liked hard physical work. Printmaking provides for me the challenge of combining skilled craftsmanship with aesthetic vision. Some of the first prints were made in Europe, and used to tell stories about the saints. As a printmaker, I feel very connected to this history and to the tools and atmosphere of the printshop.

Stencils are cut from paper and attached to my silk screen, or I draw directly on the screen with an oil-based crayon. With each pass of ink on the paper, the colors are layered onto the paper until the image is complete. I print each stage on sheets of 100% rag paper. In the end, they are numbered into a limited edition.
