Banners on Mountain Road Project

In October of 2019, I invited my neighbors to my studio to learn how to carve a woodblock and make a print. Each individual worked from an historic photo of Albuquerque, creating unique images which were made into banners which now hang from the lamp posts along Mountain Road. Wells Park Mural Project

In 2021 I received a Public Art Grant from the City of Albuquerque to create a mural for my neighborhood, Wells Park. It was a mural made of prints by 55 participants-neighbors, community members, and three schools. The mural tells such a wonderful story of the history of our neighborhood including famous local heroes and historic buildings! It is housed in the Johnny Tapia Community Center.

HerStory Printmaking Collective

HerStory began as a group of women friends who gathered to produce portraits of women who have impacted how we see and understand the world. They are loosely in the style of political street art — done on newsprint and wheat pasted to walls to create murals. We have community guest artists who join us. Often these women are learning to print for the first time or may be creating portraits for the first time and are growing their visual language. Learn more here.
